Privacy policy

Shift Studio NYC ("we") is a photography studio in New York City. This policy explains what we collect when you book a session or contact us through this site, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Your name, email, phone number and Instagram handle.
• Details about your group (names, optional emails, kids' ages) and your answers to our booking questions.
• Your signed agreement, including your typed signature, the time you signed, and your IP address and browser, as a record of the signature.
• Payment details you give us, such as which method you used and a payment reference. We don't see or store card numbers; card payments are handled by Stripe.
• Messages you send through our contact form.
• How you use our booking pages: which ad or link brought you here, the pages you open, how far you scroll, the buttons you tap, how long you spend on each step, and whether you're on a phone or computer. We store a random ID in a cookie on your browser to connect these visits. We also use the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics to measure visits and bookings from our ads (see below).

How we use it

• To hold, confirm and run your session, and send your confirmation, reminders and gallery link.
• To reply to your questions and requests.
• To understand which of our ads and pages work, and improve them.
• To email or text you about future sessions, only if you checked the box to opt in. You can unsubscribe anytime by replying STOP or emailing us.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We use a few services to run the studio, and they only get what they need:

• Resend, to send our emails.
• Stripe, if you pay by card.
• Google Calendar, to keep our own schedule of sessions.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel, to measure and improve our ads. When you type your name, email or phone number into a form on this site, a scrambled (hashed) version of it is sent to Meta so it can match the visit to our ads; Meta doesn't receive the readable details.
• Google Analytics, to understand how visitors find and use our pages.
• Pic-Time, which hosts your private online gallery.

Cookies

We use our own cookies and browser storage: a random visitor ID kept for up to a year, an ID for a single visit that expires after 30 minutes without activity, and the ad link you came from, kept for 30 days. Meta and Google also set their own cookies to measure visits and ad results. You can clear or block them in your browser settings and booking still works.

Your photos

How we may share photos from your session is covered in your session agreement. You can opt out of us sharing them at any time by emailing us.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records and signed agreements for as long as we need them for our records, taxes and any questions about your session. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, except what we're required to keep.

Google sign-in

This site connects to our own Google Calendar to add booked sessions. Only the studio signs in with Google; clients never do. We only use that access to create, move and remove our session events, and we don't share it with anyone.
